Justo Casal is selected BCU Alumni of the Year 2010

Human Rights Law graduate Justo Casal has been nominated and selected as one of the Birmingham City University (BCU) alumni of the year in the field of Community Engagement and Leadership.

Each year BCU recognizes the outstanding achievements of its graduates by naming up to 5 Alumni of the Year.

This award seeks to recognize and acknowledge alumni who have made an important contribution to the profile of the University through their achievement of excellence, and who have made an important contribution to the local, national or international community in the course of their career or through voluntary or charitable work.

Birmingham City University vice chancellor, David Tidmarsh, said: Justo, Kerry, Mark, Fei and Rhydian are all exceptional ambassadors for the University; their stories are inspiring and their achievements outstanding. I very much look forward to meeting them when they collect their certificates at the upcoming Awards Ceremonies in January and February.”

Justo Casal gives a lecture at the Standard Bank Foundation

The Standard Bank Foundation in Argentina is hosting a seminar with the title ‘South Africa, entry point to the African continent. Land of opportunities’.

Justo Casal, one of the 3 guest speakers, will be exposing his life experience in the continent, more specifically Kenya, where he lived from 2000 to 2005. Casal has been invited as an expert in the East Africa region due to his deep knowledge of the region.

Justo will be talking about cultural aspects to have in mind when negotiating with Africans as well as the importance of the East Africa Community in the economic growth of the continent as a whole and the opportunity that Argentine products and companies have in this part of the world.

Citizen TV (Kenya) interviews Justo N. Casal

Kenya television station Citizen TV interviewed human rights photojournalist Justo N. Casal in the Power Breakfast Show where his work was shown.

Mr. Casal talked about his work as a humanitarian as well as showed some of his photos taken in remote places of Africa and the teaser of the documentary,’The Cut’.

Justo also announced the launch of his latest documentary, ‘The Cut’ which will be available from Sept. 1st onwards for people to watch for free in the following web site: http://www.casalpix.com/doc.php
